Kaboti surf assisted the 7th of march to the training and accreditation for the Underwater Atlantic Museum in Playa Blanca.
On the 1st December 2015, The General Management for the Sustainability of the Coast and the Sea, which pertains to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, authorised the cretion of the Underwater Atlantic Museum.
Atlantic Museum is made up of a series of sculptures in different scenes which will recreate the diverse parts that form the museum; The museum is 12 metres deep in the clear waters o the south coast of Lanzarote, in the Bahía de Las Colordas, an enclave which has been chosen principally for the physical characteristics of its seabed, encompassing an area of 2,500m2, accessible to divers and underwater enthusiasts alike.
DeCaires sends us a latent message in his work: the defence of the oceans. This museum project will create a huge artificial reef made up of a series of pH neutral, cement sculptures which, over time, will help marine biomass flourish and facilitate species’reproduction on the island.
Kaboti Surf after the accreditation course, in which all procedures and information about the Atlantic Museum were explained, is be able to organise stand up paddle excursions, with snorkelling, guiding in the water and explaining all about it. Information about all excursions will be available soon!
